Monsters, Inc. 2 was announced in 2010 slated for a release in November 2012. Originally the release was scheduled for November 16th, 2012 but was instead moved to November 2nd (exactly 11 years after the original release of the first film) to avoid competition with the Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn. In January 2011, speculation arose that the film was to be a sequel, chronicling Mike and Sulley's studies at the University of Fear, where they were enemies and how they became friends.
