Yes. Anyone suspected of being involved in a crime can be questioned by the police.
Define "questioned by police." There are no restrictions on officers simply talking to minors - more has to be known about the circumstances. Is the juvenile in custody? Is the juvenile being talked to by the School Resource Officer at school? Is the juvenile conversing with the officer, or during a traffic stop, or a momentary contact on the street? What?
I don't think they can do that so no!
I believe in this situation England has the same laws as the US in which police cannot question anyone under the age of 18 alone however, a 17 year old may give consent to be questioned without a guardian present, anyone younger cannot be questioned whatsoever without a guardian.
Yes. See: http://www.illinoislegalaid.org/index.cfm?fuseaction=home.dsp_content&contentID=5348
Absolutely not. The police won't let the parent of a minor child be present during questioning??? Sounds fishy to me. There is no law that requires a parent or guardian to be present when a minor is questioned. In some cases the presence of such a person intimidates the minor more that the police interrogation. There are any number of reasons why police would prefer to question a minor in private, abusive situations concerning parents or family members is just one. If the minor wishes a parent to be present, then most departments will allow that to happen, it is however not mandatory on the part of the police, neither is legal counsel unless the minor is actually arrested. The minor of course can refuse to speak to the police, which may result in he or she being placed under arrest in which case legal counsel should be retained. Check what state you're in, some states consider a person 17 to be an adult and subject to criminal court procedures rather that juvinile court procedures Answer 2: O.R.C In some states there is a clause in the law that states that a 17 year old is an adult, you also have to take into consideration if the person is imancipated or not. In Ohio you can refuse to talk to police when you are being detained or arrested. "You have the right to have an attorney present during questioning...", you can also have your parent present while your being questioned. It depends on the state...
That depends what happened.
"The Police questioned the suspect."
Most people live their lives without being questioned by the police. If you have been involved with a suspicious activity, witnessed a suspicious activity, have been involved in an accident, or had another type of incident that the police could be involved in, then you are much more likely to be questioned.
Yes, in Texas a 17-year-old can generally be questioned by the police without parental consent. However, the presence of a parent or guardian during the questioning is always advisable to protect the minor's rights.
Absolutely, all children can be questioned as long as the parent(s) are present.
poo on my needs to flow?
Define "questioned by police." The circumstances and situation needs to be known before a knowledgeable answer can be given. Were you simply spoken to while on the street and not in custody? Were you taken into custody and formally questioned as a result of your arrest? What?
Police and politicians did not enforce prohibition laws.
Any possession conviction will stop you from joining the police force. Unless the police force in outside the U.S., police forces prefer cops who aren't criminals.
Because you're a witness?
After their dad was imprisoned, sadie is taken by the police and put in with her cat. She is then questioned by the police.
