The age of majority in GA is 18. You can leave home at 17 if your parents agree to allow it or you've been emancipated in some manner.
My Answer: Actually, a 17-year old in Georgia can now go to prison (as an example, one may recall the high school football star who has already served three years of a 10 year sentence for being with a 15 year old). This creates a loophole in Georgia law. You cannot be kicked out until age 18 (or legally sign Contracts), but you may leave on your own at 17 and cannot be forced to return or be charged as a runaway. Don't believe it? Call the police and ask.

Actually because i am dealing with the same situation.
They changed the law in 2009 because the parents were complaining about their children leaving and the parents still being responsible for the child's actions.
I Have just very recently tried to leave but my father went to a juvenille judge and they said that you can not leave in the state of Georgia till you are 18 but you can leave when your 17 with parental consent. And the whole you cannot be charged as a runaway is not true either. You can be sent to juvy. even before they made this law in 09 your parents could still try to prove you as an unruly child and make you stay at home till you were 18. anways bottom line, without parental consent you cannot leave your house until you are 18 unless you are emancipated, or you get pregnant and get married
well...your parents cant kick you out until you are 18 yrs old, but you can legally leave your home at age 17 and not be charged with anything, or be considered a runaway. This is because of the loop hole in Georgia law
Parental consent to do what? Having a child does not emancipate you--you are still a minor and therefore under the control of your parents. However, you (not your parents) do have parental rights over your own child.
18, unless you have parental consent or have been legally emancipated.
Yes, you can give them permission to move out. It will not remove your responsibility for their welfare.
ONLY if your parents let you but in most states you have to be 18 to move out because when you 18 you are legally an adult
No, you cannot legally move out. You must be 18 or have their permission.
She has to get her parents concent to do that.
No, in Georgia, you cannot move out until 17.
no idia
no
Pregnancy/having a child does not emancipate a person.
You need to have a legal guardian until you are 18.
Yes, you can move out at the age of 17 in Georgia. That other guy has no idea what he is talking about. You can legally move out at 17 and can get approved emancipation at the age of 15 or 16 (not sure which) if you are pregnant.
In the state of Georgia, the legal age of majority is 18. A 17-year-old would typically need to be legally emancipated or have parental consent to move out of their parents' house. It is advisable to seek guidance from a legal professional in such situations.
I know for a fact you can go to Michigan. I think you could go to Georgia as well
Well you could as long as your parents say yes and the court says you can legally go.
Legally you are not yet an adult. You have to live where your parents or the court say you will live.
