Christians and non-Christian Relationship YES IT IS POSSIBLE!!! All it takes is an open, honest relationship with lots of communication. Of course, it won't be easy as pie but if both people care deeply for the other then they will be willing to work on it together. If the relationship can overcome this barrier, the bond will only become stronger. Lasting relationships occur between people who are from different cultures, different political stances and interests all the time. A religious difference is fundamentally no different than the issue between a diehard liberal and conservative, or a hardcore Yankees fan who cares deeply for someone who supports the red sox.

No ITS NOT Possible!Friendship, yes, but if you want to start going out with the person, then no.God tells us in The Bible: "Don't become partners with those who reject God. How can you make a partnership out of right and wrong? That's not partnership; that's war. Is light best friends with dark? Does Christ go strolling with the Devil? Do trust and mistrust hold hands?...Don't link up with those who will pollute you. I want you all for myself. I'll be a Father to you; you'll be sons and daughters to me."

2 Corinthians 6: 14-18 (The Message)

Additional Opinions:
  • Ask God to give you a man who suites your needs, God knowing is exact.
  • yes you can!! it takes a Christian to make a Christian!!
  • "if any brother has a wife who is not a believer and she is willing to live with him, he must not divorce her. And if a woman who has a husband who is not a believer, she must not divorce him. For the unbelieving husband has been sanctified through his wife, and the unbelieving wife has been sanctified through her husband. Otherwise, your children would be unclean, but as it is, they are holy." - 1 Corinthians 7: 12-15

  • You people who say you can't are WRONG! Love is love! Sure..it'll be harder to talk about some subjects, but it can work.I've been in a relationship with a non-christian for 3 years and it's perfectly fine! All it takes is denying Christ's rules.
  • The short answer is 'No': a christian /non-Christian relationship can't ultimately work out. The long answer is : No, a relationship, be it marriage or business, between a Christian who truly strives to live his entire life and thoughts by the commands, principles and example of his Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ , and a non-Christian will always ultimately fail.

  • 2Co 6:14 Unequal Partners (Quoted Text)
  • Yes, I know there are so-called 'successful' relationships according to the world's standards between Christians and non-Christians, ( for example, where two people marry and one becomes converted to Christianity) but Christians are called to come out of the world, not to re-enter it.
  • Just because you can do something doesn't make it right, and just because others do something doesn't mean you have to copy them.

By the way, do not use 'The Message' for doctrine: it is a paraphrase and not a translation. For readibility, yes: for doctrine, no. Instead, use a translation that tries to get as close as possible to the original : I have used the NETBible here , but there are others as well:-

  • Do not become partners with those who do not believe, for what partnership is there between righteousness and lawlessness, or what fellowship does light have with darkness?

2Co 6:15 And what agreement does Christ have with Beliar? Or what does a believer share in common with an unbeliever?

2Co 6:16 And what mutual agreement does the temple of God have with idols? For we are the temple of the living God, just as God said,

"I will live in them and will walk among them, and I will be their God, and they will be my people." [See Leviticus 26:12, Jeremiah 32:38, Ezekiel 37:27]

2Co 6:17 Therefore "come out from their midst, and be separate," [See Isaiah 52:11, Ezekiel 20:34, 41]

says the Lord,

"and touch no unclean thing, and I will welcome you,

2Co 6:18 and I will be a father to you, and you will be my sons and daughters,"

[ see 2 Samuel 7:14] says the All-Powerful Lord.

2Co 6:14 Don't be unequally yoked with unbelievers, for what fellowship have righteousness and iniquity? Or what fellowship has light with darkness?2Co 6:15 What agreement has Christ with Belial? Or what portion has a believer with an unbeliever?

  • If two people were together and both became Christians and one decided that it wasnt for them anymore you need to find something that you guys feel mutual about. In order for us to be true Christians we need to become more like Jesus. We need to begin to take on his traits and characteristics. He never left us and he cared for us even when we were in sin so you should never leave someone's side especially if the face of the enemy who is trying to consume your partners soul. Relationships arent easy being saved isn't easy the bible says if you suffer with Him on earth you will rein with Him in heaven. So our labouring isn't in vain its to show the Lord that we are faithful servants and follow in is footsteps
  • If two non-Christians are in a relationship and one becomes truly converted to Christianity, then that always puts extra pressure on that relationship, and that is hard enough. It's even harder when a Christian enters a relationship with someone knowing they are a non-christian, especially when kids come along, and then there are the in-laws as well. Follow what God recommends through Paul, because it's hard enough as it is without making things more difficult.
