Yes, that's how the titantic sank. However the titantic didn't sink just because of the iceberg. That year was the year of the 100 year Solar Eclipse! When it comes out icebergs go toward as if the moon was a magnet and the icebergs were metal.Because of the moon the icebergs were pulled between America and England's Dock where the Titantic left and the titantic happend to be in the middle! When the titantic was closer to America when it was sinking many people were jumping from the titantic while woman and children were getting onto dingy's.But, there are these 3 people who changed the titantic forever!Their names were Marlyn N. Thayer,Jack Thayer, and last but not least Jack Jr. Thayer. While Jack Jr. Thayer wanted to get his parents and him off, they couldn't they had to be left behind.Jack Jr. Thayer and his best friend Ryan Butler had to jump but Ryan couldn't swim!So Jack helped him out they were rescued from another ship. The other ship had tooken them to New York.Legend says that the last song played was "Near To God Are We"
The outter hull was iron which was rivetted, unlike today where its steel and welded. A combination of the freezing water temperature and the size of the iceberg punctured the hull, allowing water to pour into the ship in its forward engine room. The ship was designed with compartments across the hull. However, when the iceberg tore away the first panels the water came in and filled the front compartment. Sadly the designers didnt put the compartment wall to the top and water cascaded over the top filling the second compartment which had be holed as well. This added to the forward weight tipping the ship down and more water cascaded over the compartments. It is suggested that had the comparment walls been floor to ceiling then the ship would probably managed to survive the rippping of the hull and tear-out of the iron rivits
The iceberg that hit Titanic was so far south that it would completely dissolved in a few days.
Yes. The ship was claimed to be unsinkable - but the iceberg ripped open a number of watertight compartments, and caused the ship to sink.
Yes. Hitting the iceberg tore open the hull, letting water into the ship.
If a ship has no buoyancy, then it will sink. In the tragedy of the RMS Titanic, the ship sank due to a collision with an iceberg, which ripped through the underside of the boat. Also the fact that they were going at an incredibly slow speed.
it was kinda big
The question makes no sense. The Titanic was a real ship. It actually did strike an iceberg and sink.
Titanic's collision with the iceberg was obviously bad enough to sink her. The rivets were popped between the metal plates and enough water breached through to make her unstable and eventually to sink her.
The iceberg scraped against the hull plates making the steel rivets holding it together loosen water poured into the ship making it slowly sink. Starboard.
maybe or no. cause there are lot of ships which is built nicer than titanic. titanic was a nice ship but it hit was hit by an iceberg so it got sink. ships would sink if its hit by an iceberg right?
Simply put, collision.
An iceberg
Ship that crash into iceberg, sink before help comes
An iceberg. its an iceberg cause it is big and floats that is what made the titanic sink
The Titanic struck an iceberg.
A big iceberg sank the Titanic, a very big ship for it's time.
yes.if it isn't icebergs would sink.

Titanic struck an iceberg and ripped a hole in the hull, causing the ship to sink.
The very basic answer is, it struck and iceberg which created a gash in the side of the ship an it filled with water.
