You can teach an older dog anything with time and patience. The old saying of "you can't teach old dogs new tricks" is bologna. I have recently adopted a 7 year old lab and taught him to hunt partridge. Just make sure the dog is in good health and physical condition before asking it to take on a hog.
Scruffy. However, he did dance with Basil (another dog) when they played "hunt the bone".
you teach your dog to poo when he seas a squirrel then you are ready with your gun and shot it down
It is another way to say, "That doesn't make sense".
I, am a big fan of "Dog Whisperer" and I watched all of Cesar Millan's episodes and he trained every dog in every episode.
Dogs in the wild will hunt their food, usually be hiding to sneak up on it and then chasing the victim, finally pouncing on it to bring it to the ground for the kill. They will eat it raw. Dogs sometimes hunt in packs, to corner the prey, making it impossible for escape. African Wildies will usually hunt things like deer and smaller prey such as rabbits etc.
maybe. Depends on the dog.
bno
Of course.
It really depends on what kind of dog it is, also how it's trained. You can train dogs to hunt, but they will not do it automatically.
No. Wolves were not used to hunt because they were not domesticated and could not be readilly trained. Dog were used for hunting
using a hound to lead you to your prey, it is commonly used in cougar hunting because the dog will tree the cougar
It depends solely on what you want to hunt. If you want to hunt small mammals, like squirrels, get a terrier. If you want to hunt larger animals, like hares or raccoons, get a hound breed. If you want to hunt exceptionally large prey, like hogs, you'll have to get a dog from a kennel that specializes in that area.
Since there is no difference between Jews and anyone else, there is no way a dog can tell the difference, so cannot be trained to hunt Jews. Dogs can be trained only to hunt individuals as directed by human beings, so it is the human being that are hunting Jews (or who they think are Jews).
The hunting behaviour is something that is innate. The innate behaviours can either be trained and encouraged, or not encouraged. The dog will still have some hound like behaviours, but it wont really be "able" to hunt.
In modern times, dachsunds can be trained for any number of activities. Dog agility, tricks (shake, sit, stay, etc), fetch, and any other number of dog activities. Originally, dachsunds were trained and bred to hunt small, ground dwelling animals, such as badgers and rabbits.

That dog can hunt is a metaphor for He is good at something
