No the game was designed to be played on the PS3. If you start doing some of the things that get you banned from the PlayStation Network it would be that and not the game that would ruin your PS3. Sometimes a player can play too long, but if it is new like you say it is under warranty and you should learn that they do not break from playing unless they are defective.
