Ratings are assigned by the MPAA Motion Picture association of America, the ratings system was created originally by one Jack Valenti.-in l968. No Dinosaur- it has moved around with the times- and new categories have been evolved- as originally configured there were only 4 categories- G- M- R- and X, now we have G- PG- Pg-l3, R- and NC-l7. it is no dinosaur. the Church has its own rating system which dates to the Legion of Decency which was founded in l934. a-l corresponds to G- A-ll Okay for adolescents and adult- A-III acceptable for Adults. A-l4 acceptable to adults- with reservations ( borderline here)- and O- Morally objectionable. Some relatively tame films have been rated (O) for thematic reasons, such as Flatliners 9 reincarnation and lilfe and death issues) and the War Film ( Blue Max)- excessive sex action between battles- and morally questionable characters in the Luftwaffe.
