No the PS3 games are not able to be run on the PS Vita. At a Electronics show an individual has said that if the Vita was used to run a PS3 game the Battery would last less that 5 minutes and the PS Vita would be too hot to put in your pocket. While I know that people would like console game to run in portables right now what the PS3 console does is work with the PS Vita to store your games and provide a storage area. You can download PSP games into the PS3 from the PlayStation Store and play them in your PS Vita
