Yes! to program your remote,
I've read elsewhere that Logitech Harmony universal remotes will work using RCA codes, they suggested L32HD31 as your TV to get it to control the TCL tv and comcast. I have used 10047 and 11781 as the remote code for a TCL LCD TV on my Comcast digital adapter remote. They are each RCACodes, that work perfectly on TCL , as RCA is owned by TCL.
If you are a DirecTV or Cox subscriber, you may sync a universal remote to your television using code 1548 or 11548. These codes are for use with the following Coby television models: TFTV1022, TFTV1212, TFTV1513, TFTV1514, TFTV1524, TFTV1913, TFTV1923, TFTV2214, TFTV2224, TFTV2617, TFTV3217, TFTV3717, TFTV4717 If the codes do not work, or if you are not a DirecTV or Cox customer, the universal remote control manufacturer is responsible for creating and embedding a Coby-compatible code in the remote control. Please contact your cable carrier or the universal remote control manufacturer for assistance. http://www.cobyusa.com/?p=faq This code works on my Comcast remote for my Coby TV: 11265

No any good 20$ cable will work fine, but just go buy a Sony cable from Walmart.
nope
You can probably program your Comcast remote to work with it just fine.
Worked for me
A Sky remote control is a remote control that works in sync with a Sky Digibox and TV. A Sky Digibox is a specific brand of cable boxes. Most of these remote control are universal and will work with any TV.
I searched the internet looking for a way to program my comcast remote to work on my plain old 32" Sylvania TV. Nothing worked. The codes given by comcast didn't work. I read on another web site (askdave) where people with new Sony big screens were having the same problem. Their problem was solved by entering a 1 in front of the four digit number on comcast's list for their TV. I tried this for my Sylvania and the third code in the list worked with the 1 in front of it. Hope this helps.
try 10030, 0r jusrt 0030, it works for me I have comcast cable service and a visco tv set, the code i used was 0030, and it works fine
The code in the Comcast sheet that came with the remote is 10180. It does not work. Craig says tha 16222,10073,10180 and 11822 might work. They did not. I found the code 11823 will allow the power button to work but not the volume and mute button. Bill
I recently tried to program my Comcast remote to my GPX TV. there are no codes that consistently work at this point in time (02/05/2012)

how do i program a charter remote to a rca tv
I purchased a Philips model# SRU5107WM17 remote and had same problem with my Mediacom cable/dvr. Could not find the codes in the in package nor on the Philips website. I had to do some research. Not sure what brand of cable box you have but I have PACE and the Motorola codes worked for my Pace cable/dvr box. The code I used was 1077. If Motorola codes don't work, the Scientific Atlanta codes work for some Pace cable/dvr boxes. It is a shame that between Mediacom and Philips don't help customers out better.
remotes that are built for cable boxes like the cox remote is a universal remote control. although this is a universal remote, it normally will only work with cox digital converter cable boxes. therefore if the digital converter box that you want to control is from cox or motorola (or similar supported affiliate of cox) then pressing the CABLE button will control that said digital converter box. The AUX button will normally not control another digital cable box, because the manufacturer figures that the only converter STB that you will be using is theirs. thus, the CABLE button is only set for their STB. Normally to control weird or unpopular digital converter boxes - universal remotes are recommended. there are many brands, but make sure you find a learning universal remote. so in case the digital converter box code is not in the universal remote (like in the cox universal remote) then you can program it in yourself - hence the term "learning remote" i picked up a ton of these last year for christmas for everyone in my family because they were dirt cheap and most ppl watch tv. so a universal learning remote for everyone was convenient & cost efficient for the state of the economy last year. i posted a link of where i got mine from, but there are many on the market. find what you like & purchase it, but make sure its a learning universal remote.
