Nope, she has not.
Due to the PG-13 rating, the movie will not involve any nudity on the part of Dakota Fanning. In answer to the above. First of all, the film was rated "R", even after upwards of four major edits until it was given a very limited release by Empire Film Group (the movie's third owner) more than two years after it had wrapped. Of the twelve identified scenes of child sexuality that were originally filmed- many quite explicit- six were eliminated from the final cut and the other six were "moderated". This was the result of a sneak preview less than two weeks before its showing at the 2007 Sundance Film Festival. The viewing drew so much revulsion (even among the hardened reviewers) that it was an emergency re-edit by director/producer/writer Deborah Kampmeier that was shown at the festival. Even that was greeted badly, despite expensive preparations and a "press conference" that turned into a PR disaster. Eliminated from the final version was the scene where Fanning's character takes revenge on two children (Cody Hanford-10 and Isabelle Fuhrman-9) by holding a shotgun on them in a field, forcing them to strip naked and fondle each other- then wrapping a live snake around their collective necks. The definitive "rape scene"- in which Fanning dances naked for two boys while singing "Hounddog" and is graphically molested by the elder boy (Christoph Sanders-18) while Hanford looks on- was cut to the bare bones. But it did happen, as a number of witnesses from the set (who walked out in disgust) testified to. Remaining in the film were scenes of Fanning and Hanford cavorting in wet underwear, Fanning writhing on a bed in tightened panties with Sanders looking on and a definite nude scene where Fanning stands up out of a soap bath, her bare flanks clearly visible, while "Grammy" (Piper Laurie) eyes her over- a odious and frightening scene. Rumors of a second and even more brutal rape scene (involving David "Daddy" Morse and Fanning) were forthcoming from several sources, but never proven. In conjunction with a graphic sex scene between adult actors David Morse and Robin Wright (which was left in the final edit), these scenes created what was almost certainly the most obscene movie ever shot in America as a feature film. In fact, it was the first attempt to legitimize child pornography in this country. Had it occurred in a less film friendly locale (Screen Gems Studios in Wilmington NC- the notorious site of many of the most obscene films made in America) it is likely that many of the participants would have been prosecuted, as it was in multiple violation of strict (on paper) state laws. As it was, the filmmakers avoided this, but lost their shirts in the process. Hanford and Fuhrman have largely faded from the scene since, but Fanning ("out of the garden", as one reviewer put it) went on to other grim films over time, even as her publicists worked long to play down this disaster. But Dakota Fanning never made a "nice" movie again. Until her cameo role in "Twilight II", her resume was one of cheap and grim failures. But now, with her new agents, she's making a comeback... predictably, with nudity and sex. She's 18, now, so she can do it! But she "did it" first when she was only 12. Such things have immutable consequences to the minds of children. Dakota Fanning will remain America's first kiddie porn star and the most exploited child actress in Hollywood's ill-famed history.
