After the producers contacted the Gosselin family and the filming began, the show became Jon and Kate's job. Now, all their money has come from their show, books, speaking engagements and personal appearances. They live off that income. I have to say, it seems like the show provides them with a lot of money because they can afford countless vacations, the new house, all the clothes, two new puppies, many trips to the zoo and shows etc.
