Jon and Kate were not able to get pregnant on their own, so they used fertility treatments. First they had their twins, Cara and Mady. When the twins were 3, Kate wanted one more baby and says that she told Jon that she wanted to know what it was like to be pregnant with only one. Jon was happy with their family of four but decided to try. After only two treatments, the Gosselins discovered that they were expecting again. At the first ultrasound, the doctor found 7 heartbeats, but Jon and Kate were against reduction and they kept them. On Chrsitmas Eve of 2003, Kate bled internally, but lost only one baby. After that, she was hospitilized for ten weeks, and in May, the sextuplets were born. All of the babies were healthy and released by the end of July.

∙ 14y agoJon and Kate Gosselin didn't choose to have 8 kids, they originally planned to have just 3 kids. So after the Twins, Mady and Cara were born they went for 1 more child and ended up with 6, sextuplets, which made 8 kids all together 2 + 6 = 8! It's a wonderful story and they are all just living a miracle!
