Yes. During the first year, the state provided a nurse to help care for the sextuplets.
When the year was up, Kate Gosselin requested an extension for help caring for the babies.
A judge ruled that since the only medication the sextuplets were taking was a multi-vitamin, and they did not need any nursing care, that what the family needed was a caregiver.. not a skilled nurse. Since caregivers are not covered by the state, Kate Gosselin's request was denied.
