Yes, but he only went to high school. Born and raised in Brooklyn, New York, King attended and graduated from Lafayette High School. By his own account, school did not really interest him, and he had no desire to go to college. He had wanted to go into radio from the time he was a boy, so after he graduated from high school, he began seeking opportunities to pursue a radio career.
