Absolutely. If I remember correctly President Eisenhower, back in the day, would have been labeled a quadroon or octaroon. If I had her parents names, i could absolutely prove or disprove it. I'm a genealogy geek and would absolutely love to research it.

From his mother's picture it is quite obvious to any African-American person that Ida Stover Eisenhower was black. She may have been fair-skinned but that's a face with black features.

I've known about Eisenhower since I was a child. I'm 35 now. This is nothing new.

J. Edgar Hoover was black also, but wasn't raised with his immediate family. His obsessive hatred of blacks was ironically sad. There are people still living who recognize J. Edgar as a close cousin.

What's disappointing is that the oral histories about interracial relationships are discounted and ignored because they come from black folks. Our word means nothing. We have to wait around on DNA tests.

Oh well, I guess its time for Americans to wake up and recognize. Its a new day. Have a blessed day.
