i think in everybody hates chris thay make a joke out of him on the show and its rude. yes it is very sad how chris makes so many jokes about him through out the show. there is very little mention of his many accomplitjments in the 80s besides the moonwalk. i would have imaed an episode where the whole family watches Motown 25 or when maybe drew steals a copy of thriller , we are the world or bad. many of his songs like wanna be startin somethin and smooth crminal were used. i would have liked it if they talked about as an 80s icon. in one episode greg dressed up like Janet Jackson then chris rock (narrorator) said it's weirder than dressing up as Michael. so to answer your question there were many references to him in everybody hates chris. yet chris rock usually just made fun of him even though he contributed to African American culture in the 80s

No. Apostrophes are used to show contractions and possesion. Though many people use the apostrophe in dates it is, in fact, incorrect. But what about an adjectival use? "I don't like 80s' music" seems OK - it was rubbish, and "80s'" is used to mean "of the 80s".

As a series, it did technically begin "in the 80s" but considering only one episode aired in that decade (December 17th 1989), the phrase in the 80s is being used very loosely.-However, The Simpsons did air as commercials bumpers on The Tracy Ullman Show which began in 1987, so The Simpsons, just not the show, did have their debut in the 80s.
