After a couple of days, L sees Kira, who he is almost positive is Light, isn't going to kill using the name Ryuga Hideki, he stops putting the star at risk. He changes his aliases to Ryuzaki. Okay I probably confused you all. Re-watch episode 3 (I think) and he'll explain it to the police force.
