When did the insticnt come out?

I dare say primitive instincts would have started to appear pretty soon after primitive animals started to appear. The 1st time significant complex animals appear is during the Cambrian explosion about 500 million years ago. But you have to understand that no one has really ever agreed on a exact definition of "instinct". There is a very interesting chapter on instinct in Origin of Species. According to Darwin, honeycomb making by bees and "slave making" by certain ants are among the most incredible instincts in the world. You can read it here http://www.brocku.ca/MeadProject/Darwin/1859_7.htmL Yo
