Rin, being a medicle ninja, transplants Obito's sharingan eye to kakashi's slashed eye. Obito did this because he could never admit his love for Rin. He did not want her to die so he gave kakashi immense power,via sharingan. That is how and i hope i helped

well, i dont think so... but all i have is a theory.oh and if you dont know who obito is... he was in kakashi's squad andwas an exceptional uchiha. yes i said he was an uchiha. he supposedly died on a mission. this is where my theory comes in. so my theory is that zetsu ( leafy akatsuki thing) found the dead-ish body of obito and had kakuzu ( immortal-ish akatsuki) sew him back together. then he put madara uchiha's soul in the body. and that explains his double personality. currently he is in the akasuki and his name is tobi. obito+madara=tobi

How can Tobi be obito?
In the Kakashi Chronicles it never did show Obito die, it just showed a huge boulder falling where he was, he could have been moved by a extremely fast ninja, or he didn't die by being crushed (not likely). Also, the war was going on between the Hidden Stone and Hidden Grass, which means any one of three akaski could have gotten him probably Zetsu). Plus it showed his sharingan in chapter 364, and he would be the only Uchia who Itiachi couldn't kill because he was already supposedley dead. And, it probably true, because why would he create Obito and Tobi if Obito died and Tobi is an idiot? Here is one(1) proof , kakashi's sharingan(left eye) from obito, has power that is whatever he sees it can transfer anything in other dimension/place , and just like madara/tobi/obito can travel anywhere by dimension by using his sharingan (right eye). They're both using the same sharingan and powers ('cos it come to only one person, obito, and obito himself is madara/tobi). Kakashi (in manga/anime )can't actually do what Madara/tobi/obito do 'cos he is not original uchiha, and only true uchiha can perfect the power of their own sharingan.
When does madara Uchiha die?

All Uchiha are ruled out because the Uchiha clan's chakra nature affinity is Fire Release. Tobi does not even use Fire Release, much less let it be his affinity. If you say the Rinnegan lets him use Fire Release, I will tell you that I am talking about his chakra nature BEFORE the Rinnegan. Tobi uses only Earth Release, which is his affinity. Tobi is also not someone who has been previously granted Jounin rank in Konohagakure. Even after obtaining the Rinnegan, we have not seen Tobi use anything but Earth Release Techniques, and Earth release is still his affinity. Plus, Tobi is the only member of Akatsuki other than Zetsu (Kabuto is not an official member) who does not have a forehead protector on. This can only mean one thing. Masashi Kishimoto will be sitting in a room somewhere laughing when we read the next manga and see his obvious answer to Tobi's identity.
