Everybody Love's Raymond had quite a few 'flashback episodes.' These were basically episodes where you saw the main characters in their lives before the show started. In one of these fateful flashback episodes (specifically season 3, episode 26: 'How They Met') Ray's career before the Sport's Writing job was revealed! He delivered Futon's for Claude's Futon's. It's not exactly a graceful profession, but because of it he met Debra so no one can say it was all bad.
