Does It's A Wonderful Life come in Widescreen?

No. Widescreen, although first seen in the 1920s, fell out of favor in the 1930s and was not used again until the 1950s (in part as a way for theaters to compete with television, which was greatly hurting their business). "It's a Wonderful Life" was released in 1946, in the standard format for the time.

It became known as the Academy Aperture, and nearly every film made to 1952 used this aperture. In 1931 the Academy Aperture was modified to 1.37 to 1 to accomodate sound.
