Yes, it does snow in South Africa. Every winter, the mountain ranges experience snow particularly on the higher peaks. Its snows in Ceres in the Western Cape and in the Drakensburg mountains in KwaZulu Natal amongst others. It is extremely rare for the major cities and towns to experiences snow and it melts as soon as it reaches the ground. Frost in winter is very common however.
