When Winnie met Jesse he was the complete opposite of how her life was, he was laid-back, he had the opportunity to whatever he wanted, he was fun and most all of he was a free spirit. He had the life Winnie so desired, as she got to know him better she develops from a interest to a crush to him, just like any young girl she woud develop a crush.
