It is funny how the memory rewrites scripts. the only movie I can think of with a plot device related to the above would be My Side of the Mountain, which dealt with a handicapped Skier, not Bobsled artist. It was allegedly based on Fact. Joni Eareckson Tada, (Miss Handicapped) in a very real sense became disabled as a result of a freak swimming-diving accident that probably could have been prevented, so it could not be her tale. My Side of the Mountain seems to have proper, err, declination angle.
