J.T. gave Manny the idea to throw a party for Liberty since it was her birthday. At the party Liberty claims J.T. still loved her and was just scared. When J.T doesn't answer to Liberty's question he mentions that he has a girlfriend, Mia Jones. She asks him if he loves her and he said yes and then Liberty runs away and because of which he talks to Toby and he admits to him that it was true that he does still does Liberty and he decided to go after Liberty. He comes across two Lakehurst kids (Johnny DiMarco and Drake Lemke) where Johnny was going on his car. He made a witty comeback which eventually made Drake mad. J.T went to get into his car to find Liberty and Drake ran up behind him and stabbed him in the back (puncturing his aortic artery). Both Lakehurst kids run away and Liberty finds J.T. She runs over to him, screams for help, and he is taken to the hospital. A doctor comes, talks to Toby, and tells him that the damage couldn't be fixed and that J.T was dead. "I`m sorry, but your brother's gone" were the doctor's exact words. Toby told her that he was J.T's brother because she needed to talk to a family member but his Grandma wasn't coming for hours. After hearing the news, Manny bursts into tears and Sean bangs his fist against the wall. Liberty hears the slam and runs up to Toby. He gives her the bad news.
