saying gotcha works for any Pokemon game one of the reasons the Pokemon games have a mic test on the main menu for no apparent reason menu and in Pokemon white i was playing i was battling victini it used endure then i used leaf blade so it brought it down to one hp then i threw an ultra ball so i said gotcha then i pressed a while it turned white in the air then i circled the pokeball on the bottom screen every timed it shoke and i caught it my friend was trying to capture him without this method and he used all of his pokeballs which was about 30 ultra balls 20 great balls 30 nest balls and 20 pokeballs and he had to kill it and get more pokeballs. So buy this method i am assuming it does double catch rate. oh and in soul silver i cought level 70 ho-oh on my seventh ultra ball with this method
