In my 2002 2.3L Ranger, I had the same problem with the overhead light staying on too. Take the door panel off the drivers side door. (3 screws- one in bottom of hand hold, one in lower rear corner, and one (torx type) under the plastic cover on the window crank. Lift the plastic panel and remove. Pull back the plastic cover from the door and blow compressed air and or WD-40 on the electrical connection and latch at the rear of the door. Locate by following the wire to the latch. That very well may solve the problem. I solved the same problem simply by soaking everything within reach of the little red tube on my can of WD40, through the openings under the doorhandle.point the spray towards and around the locking mechanism, and keep the moving parts moving as you spray.maybe you'll be lucky.
Why would battery light come on then go off
replace the door switch. its most likely bad
The door switch for the VW Polo can go bad and cause the interior light to stay on. The switch must be changed, there is no way to repair it.
I had this happen before and I fixed it myself. Get in your Pathfinder and CLOSE the door. Turn the key on one click to accessory mode so that all of the other lights on the dash are on but do not start the car. Now open your door and push the the button inside your door jamb that turns your interior light on 7 times. Close your door and then turn your key off. Now start the Pathfinder...it should be off. If not, repeat this series a couple of times and it will go off. I have had theis happen twice and this is the correct way to fix the problem.
That's one I've never seen. Does the bathroom light turn ON when the bedroom light is switched Off? Does the bathroom light switch turn the bathroom light on and off normally when the bedroom light switch is left on? Need to answer these questions, then find where the bathroom light power comes from. It's power supply should either go directly from the power oanel to the bathroom light or to the bathroom light switch. The bathroom light switch merely acts as an interrupter for the hot leg of this power supply.
There are door switches that cause the light to go off. Shut all doors and press gently on each door to see if the light goes out. If not then the door switches will need to be removed one at a time to find the bad one.
its either your doors switch that has gone bad or your rear hatch.
If your interior light is also on, replace the door switch.
I've had that happen in my 2002 mountaineer. what I've found is that if you spray the door latches with wd40 it will clean off the sensors and the door ajar light should go out. but make sure all the doors are shut.
Probably the door ajar switch malfunctioning
in your doot jam you have little button it is a sensor it might be bad or it is your computer board behind your radio it also controls your door charm and some interior if not all interior light
If the switch is bad or out of adjustment, then the door ajar light will stay on. The overhead light will not go out, and the security alarm will not set.
this problem is related to the door ajar switch which is connected to the latch. spray wd-40 into the latch and it should go away.
sounds like an electrical problem, id take it to a technician and have them look at it
If the lights that won't go off are the interior lights, then it could be a symptom of a stuck 'door ajar' switch/sensor. In that case, see "Related Questions" below for more discussion, fixes, and permanent repairs on the door ajar problem.
Blast the switch with some wd40 and push it in and out a bunch of times, this usually works on fords when the light wont come on but its worth a shot. If no luck you will have to replace the switch.
I had the same problem on mine. On the door ,You will need to tighten the three screws that holds the door lock.
