East Indian Railway established a Carriage and Wagon Department as part of the Locomotive Works in 1855 in Howrah. This is a known fact as my ancestor Robert Webb Pearce went out from England to set it up. It remained at Howrah until 1900 when it moved to Lilulah. I have copies of the original Carriage drawings.
I am collecting together as much information as I can and if anyone can help it would be much appreciated.
