Girl dying in a movie from ghost?

The closest to this category in surely an Occult vein was a radio drama called ( The Shadow of the Wings) This has three main characters, the un-named but in no way sinister Angel of Death, a young bed-ridden girl- it is never revealed to the audience what she is dying of( some terminal illness) and the child"s Mother. as the plot gets underway- it all takes place in a hospital so, there are doctors and nurses also, all hands become somewhat confused as the Girl begins conversing with the Angel, who has dark, invisible wings ( sounds like Batman in a way!) There is some insight but no humor in this terse little radio drama. From a realistic angle- spook conversations between children and spirit beings are not unknown, and the acceptance of irrational fantastic events ( a tame example is Santa Claus) by children is well-known. I am not aware of this being adapted to a movie. in the end of the radio drama the Angel is talkied out of his Mission, so to speak by the girl, so she lives. it does not state if she retained some sort of handicap.
