No. I don't believe an advertisement for a spoon "set" exists. There are, however, ads for the *single* spoon (with Charlie in his top hat) and for the entire flatware set. I have a tabloid-sized spoon ad mounted and framed and hanging on a wall in my ventriloquism "museum."

A spoon
Depending on what type of metal the spoon is made out of it is a conductor of electricity. To make the spoon magnetic you would have to constantly charge the spoon with electricity to magnetize the metal base, IE:a nail with a wire coiled around it and charged with two D batteries. All you have to do is coil a wire around the spoon base and connect both ends of the wire(BRASS) to two D batteries and you should have a small electro magnet.

Unfortunately, Charlie McCarthy took the spotlight from Mortimer Snerd, and thus had the spoon. However, you can easily create a paper transfer of Mortimer Snerd to place on a spoon if you had the inclination.
That's old so I would look on eBay to see what similar items sell for or go to an antique store. There are also collectible books you might be able to find a value.
I have bought several from collectors and on-line at auction. I have paid between $8.00 and $20.00 but I have seen them selling for much higher than that. I have seen two spoons available. The more common figural piece is the one showing Charlie in his regular top hat. This was a give a way from the radio show in 1939. You sent in ten cents and a label from the sponsor, Chase and Sanbon and you got an actual silver plated spoon. The second figural spoon and much harder to find is the one commemorating Charlie's 1939 film-the Detective. This spoon has Charlie dressed like Sherlock Holmes. This piece sells for more than the regular spoon
