I am not sure what you mean by greater. Do you mean greater as in larger? There is no true explanation as to why some landmasses are larger than others.
However, if you mean greater as in better and more popular, then there is no answer. Some people favor South America over Europe while others favor Europe over South America. This is an opinion and everyone has their own.
