When the p and n are joined together they form what is called the "p-n junction." When they are joined some of the electrons from the n side of the junction move to the p side. When certain kinds of light hit the photovoltaic cell, some of the electrons move from the p side to the n side. In both cases the electrons have gained energy and can pass through a circuit--this creates an electrical current.

Who sells electricity to India?

India generates their own energy. They don't buy electricity from any countries!

Do they have electricity in Argentina?

Yes, Argentina has a well-developed electricity infrastructure that provides power to its urban and rural areas. The country primarily generates electricity through a mix of hydroelectric, thermal, and renewable energy sources. While most regions have reliable access to electricity, some remote areas may experience occasional outages or limited service. Overall, electricity is widely available throughout Argentina.

What is Thermoelectricity?

Thermoelectricity is electricity generated with the thermoelectric effect. Essentially, when you heat one end of a suitable material, the electrons move away from the heat, creating an electric current. It is not terribly efficient, but thermoelectric generators are often used to capture waste heat. It can also refer to electricity produced by a thermoelectric power plant, where heat (usually in the form of steam) from burning some material, usually one of the fossil fuels (coal, oil and natural gas), but also biomass, biogas, or even garbage, generates electricity.

What does a photoresistor do?

What does a photoresistor do ?Photoresistors (also often called phototransistorsor CdS photoconductive photocells; use 'photocell' for digikey) are simple resistors that altar resistancedepending on the amount of light place over them.

What is the stages of electricity production in a coal fired power station?

The coal is burned to generate heat. The heat is used to boil water which creates steam. The steam is used to turn large turbines. The rotary motion of the turbines generates electricity. The voltage of the electricity produced is 'stepped up' by means of a transformer. The high-voltage is fed to the national grid system for distribution.
