I studied this book about two years ago and from what i can remember Cherry and Marcia are the girlfriends of the Sox's (or just friends of the Sox, cant remember which). This fact reveals that they are rich. Seeing as the Greasers are poor they would usualy hang out with poor girls as well.
Therefore the difference between Cherry and Marcia and the other girls the greasers usualy hang out with is money, and therefore schooling and home life. Cherry and Marcia are complete opposites of the Greasers and any girls they hang out with.
As i said i studied this two years ago and this is going from memory.

The influences are socs because she doesnt want any of the greasers to get her by them and so when they saw the greasers with marcia and cherry she tries to tell them to be cool. becaus eshe doesnt want them to get hurt!
They learn about the Socs in the second chapter from Cherry and Marcia. Ponyboy has a conversation with Cherry about their two types of lifestyles and how every evening when the sun is setting, they are looking at the same sun from their two different worlds.
The Greasers didn't want to get it any trouble and they didn't want to get arrested. *Cherry and Marcia were with them*
There are two groups of people in The Outsiders. Socs, and Greasers. The Greasers are Ponyboy, Sodapop "Soda", and Darryl "Darry" Curtis, Keith "Two-Bit" Matthews, Dallas "Dally" Winston, Johnny Cade, and Steve Randall. The Socs are Randy Anderson, Sherri "Cherry" Valance, Bob Sheldon, and Marcia
They would have risked something happening.
Cherry and Marcia left their boyfriends at the movies because they became uncomfortable with the escalating tension and aggression displayed by the Greasers, who were causing trouble in the area. They realized that staying could lead to a dangerous situation, so they decided it was best to leave. Their departure also highlighted the differences in social class and the conflicts between the Greasers and the Socs.
Cherry and Marcia aren't scared of Johnny and Ponyboy because they recognize that not all Greasers are the same, and they see the boys as individuals rather than stereotypes. Johnny and Ponyboy are gentle and sensitive, contrasting with the more aggressive Dally. Their interactions reveal that Cherry and Marcia can appreciate their humanity and character, which transcends the social divide between their groups. This understanding allows them to connect and feel safe despite the boys' Greaser affiliation.
