He throws away something
By newton's Third law of Motion, every action has an equal and opposite reaction, the astronaut would be thrown back. The tennis ball would however keep on going in the direction until another force acted upon it(planet's gravity, meteor, etc.) by Newton's Third Law
The third astronaut of Apollo 11 was Michael Collins.
The first woman in space was Soviet (Russian) cosmonaut Valentina Tereshkova on June 16, 1963.The first female US astronaut in space was Sally Kristen Ride in 1983. The first African-American female astronaut was Mae Jemison, and the first Hispanic female astronaut was Ellen Ochoa. The first woman in space was a Cosmonaut, Valentina Tereshkova (1963).The first woman Astronaut in space was Sally Ride in 1983.Soviet cosmonaut Valentina Tereshkova was the first woman in space. She flew on the Vostok 6 mission which was launched on June 16, 1963. (Rendezvoused but did not link with Vostok 5 craft already orbiting.)Sally Ride was the first American and third woman in space. She flew on the Shuttle Challenger STS-7 mission from June 18-June 24, 1983.
Alan Sheppard was the first American and second person in space on May 5, 1961 on a 15-minute sub-orbital flight aboard Freedom 7. Following the successful completion of his mission, his spacecraft was recovered and is now on display in the lobby of the Armel-Leftwich Visitor Center at the U.S. Naval Academy, Annapolis, MD.See the related link below for more information
On February 20, 1962, NASA astronaut John Glenn flew the Friendship 7 mission becoming the third American in space and the first American to orbit the Earth circling the earth three times.

Yang Liwei is the first Chinese astronaut, also known as taikonaut, who flew into space on the Shenzhou 5 spacecraft on October 15, 2003, making China the third country to independently send humans into space.
Charles Peter (Pete) Conrad Jr. American Pilot Astronaut. Born 2 June 1930. Died 9 July 1999. Third person on the moon. Only astronaut to fly Gemini, Apollo, and Skylab. Member of first successful space station mission.
China sent its first astronaut, Yang Liwei, into space in 2003, becoming the third country to independently send humans into space after the Soviet Union and the United States.

Fred Haise was the third astronaut who landed on the moon during Apollo 13 mission.
Yes, an astronaut in space can travel by pushing herself forward using the principle of conservation of momentum. By pushing off a surface or object, the astronaut will move in the opposite direction with an equal force due to Newton's third law of motion. This method allows astronauts to navigate and move around in the weightless environment of space.
Two, I believe: Congressman Bill Nelson and Senator Jake Garn. Teacher Christa McAuliffe would have been the third.
John Glenn joined NASA in 1959.In 1962 he became the third astronaut in space and resigned from NASA in December 1963.See Link
