Your best bet is to write to NBC Studios with 3 requested dates, generally 4-6 weeks in advance, the names and ages of everyone in your party (keep them small), and anything else you feel they should know. Unlike many Talk Shows, NBC has generally hushed ticket distribution, so finding the right address might be tough. The phone is a nifty tool for information.
All members of your party must be of 16 or 17 years of age and older (I don't know which one) and all tapings are done live at 30 Rockerfeller Plaza in New York City. They are on Saturdays and begin at 11:35 and end at 1:35, and they do not do tapings every week, so you may want to see which weeks they will and will not be taping.

Season 25 Episode 19
When it premiered on NBC's weekend late-night schedule on October 11, 1975, "Saturday Night Live" was called "NBC's Saturday Night" to avoid a conflict with another network show. On ABC's primetime schedule that season was a variety series titled "Saturday Night Live with Howard Cosell." The sports personality's show was short lived, however, and so the NBC program became "Saturday Night Live."
