How come my wi-fi doesn't work in some of my games. I used advanced setup for my wi-fi connection does that have an effect because if yes i can't use wi-fi?

There is a website that will tell you how to get connected.I don't remember it but I can tell you how I got it.I went onto where I connect to the computer on the game and it said that I didn't have any connection.They had given me a website though.I used it and It gave me a walkthrough on how to connect.After a little bit of confusion and trouble,I was trading with people in Japan and playing with people in America.Without that website I would have deleted that game from my R4 in no time.You should try doing this and you might find yourself playing with me here is my Pokemon platinum and acww friend codes.Sorry I do have Pokemon Diamond,Pearl aswell but I left them at my nans.I promise next time I send one of these in I will give my friend code.Well here you go:
