riolu evolves with a certain amount of happiness and riolus will have a certain amount of a chance to evolve at diffrent amounts of happiness and if your riolus happiness is maxed out then it will only evolve during the day - a female and a male riolu will not have eggs if you put them in the day care - a female evolved riolu (a female lucario) and a male evolved riolu (a male lucario) will have eggs if you put them in the day care
How do you get a riolu egg?
Go to Canalave (west of Jubilife) and if you go to the bottom left side, at a dock there is a guy standing next to a boat. talk to him and he will ask where you want to go. your only option is Iron island so go there. to your left is the boat and to the right is some stairs. go up both stairs and go in the cave. then go to the right and make your way to another entrance. go in and i think its a elevator thingy. go down that and go to the stairs on the right. make your way through there until you see a guy in blue. talk to him and he will ask you to take down Team Galactic with him. Try and find people with green hair (dark green) if you see them then your going the right way. pass through them and go down where two galactic grunts are. If your like me and all you need to do in the game is complete the pokedex and beat elite 4, then your Pokemon should be fairly high leveled. you just take out their 6 Pokemon easily and then the guy in blue will thank you and give you an egg. Its the Riolu egg :DD the ranged steps to hatch it is between 2800-6000. the best ways to hatch the egg is to either (if you can be bothered...) trek through all the cities, or just go to solaceon town, get to the very right of the dirt road and just continually ride back and forth. One lap (up and back) is appropriately 246 steps so it may take a few mins but its the easiest way to do it :)
