DuBois believed that African Americans should attack racism. He was involved in the founding of the NAACP, which took many cases of racial discrimination to court in an effort to get the nation to live up to the promises of the 13th and 14th Amendments.
Washington believed that African Americans should cooperate with whites and accept temporary segregation to get along with southern whites. He thought that racial equality would come gradually.
Booker T Washinigton was similar to MLK in that he believed in peaceful protesting for improving the social conditions for blacks back then, hower W.E.B. Dubois was from the newer generation of advocates for racial equality and the newer generation of advocates were more radical and did not protest in peaceful manners..in addition, Dubois was a Northerner and did not experience full racisim directly.

Dubois believed in political agitation, that you could not have social and economic rights unless you had political rights to defend them.
Washington believed that economic progress was sufficient, and that in other areas (segregation and political repression) blacks could tolerate inequality.
And Dubois did experince racism directly, especially when attending Fisk University in Nashville, TN. iE Jim Crow.

I'd say that pride is more akin to a feeling as it is based on one's individual perception of self, and can differ from how the world views oneself. Because everybody has a differening sense of pride, I'd definitely argue that it is a feeling.
