According to Murdoc Niccals, she left Kong Studios after recording the El Manana video, which was staged. As of 2007, it had been stated that Noodle was in the Maldives "chilling out". Later on, Murdoc announced that Noodle had been captured by demons and sent to hell. A radio transmission coming from the basement of Kong Studios featured Noodle warning the other Gorillaz about a certain demon boy. There were demons that apparently came out of the hellhole in Kong studios looking for Russell. When they didn't find him, they took Noodle instead for some reason. Murdoc claimed he was going down to Hell to save her. He later affirmed that she was saved. But recently, he has announced that his supposed rescue attempt was a drunken fantasy. So apparently, Noodle is still trapped in hell. In his Pirate radio transmissions to promote Plastic Beach, Murdoc has given a shout-out to Noodle for her nineteenth birthday, wondering where she was. No one has affirmed that she's dead, but no one knows if she really is in hell.
