Horse, wagon, and walking were the three ways people travels in the 1800s.
presidents travel so much b/c they go around the world to make peace w/ the other presidents, kings, emperors etc. so they can sign treaties, contracts and all that legal stuff and if they are new presidents its mostly just to spread the word! :)
