Wilson was in dire need of campaign finance. He let the big bankers finance his run for presidency and in turn he promised he would send the federal reserve act to congress, they passed it and was later signed into law by president Wilson. This was a win win for all sides...the war ended, bankers are fat off the American worker and Wilson comes out looking like the golden boy. However, Wilson later stated that he had unwittingly ruined the country by causing a great industrial nation to be controlled by its system of credit, that we are no longer a government by conviction and the vote of the majority, but a government by the opinion and duress of a small group of dominant men.
