It depends on the scene. In a few of the scenes, a portion of the boat was created for on-camera exterior work, in some, the actors went on green-screen and the boat was added around them later with CG effects, and for the interior scenes of the boat, a sound stage was used (they just built a regular set). A fun fact i found out- in the scenes where the rooms were tilting and water was coming into the room (interiors), they built a huge model of the room in which the scene was to be shot on top of huge water cushions (correct me if I'm wrong because I'm not positive) and then used pullies and the water to totally tilt the set as it was.
