I'm not 100% on this, but I beleive that the rcmp has specialized units that tackle homicide, drug smugling, etc.While you have to start as a cop in the rcmp, the fbi hires special agents that imediatley tackle federal crime. The US also has the DEA and ATF. I prefer US law enforcement.
