How do you beat 2nd gym leader on diamond with prinplup?

To defeat the second gym you have to first beat all the hidden trainers.the first one is at the bottom of the gym go right and up athey should be there.after you beat them they will tell you where the next one is.Eventualy you will see the leader at the green patch at the very bottom.to beat them if you chose chimchar it should be easy if you chose turtwig make sure it knows bite and if you chose piplup make sure it knows peck or metal claw.they first send out cherubi kill it quickly so it wont use leech seed the turtwig has good defense and knows razor leaf to take out any water types.the roserade is verrry good.it knows magical leaf, a hyped up razor leaf. to kill it either use a good psychic move, a good fire type move, a good steel or a good flying.any of those should also kill the other two in a couple of hits.

1. Don't use Prinplup or any other water pokemon

2. Obtain a Starly

3. Train Starly until it learns Wing Attack

4. Use Flying moves to beat grass gym to a pulp

5. Also use a fire pokemon

6. Profit!

you get a prinplup level it up to level 35 and then bet the grass gym leader

Noo the last guy was wrong if your using a prinplup then either catch a fire type or use peck/ flying type moves that prinplup learns its alot easier though if your prinplup is tougher then you can getsuper effective 1 hit k.os

ok that's good but my question was 'how do you get passed gardinia with a prinplup in pokeon platinum?' - what if you have a staravia is that any good?

If your Prinplup knows peck that is a good start for Gardenias Cherubi! themn she has Roserade and Turtwig left use all her Pokemon are on level 19 except for Roserade who is on level 22. if you have a staravia that helps out a lot! You can level your Pokemon in the gym preparing yourself for Gardenia herself! try to save Staravia for Gardenia! hope i helped a lot!

well the gym leader is a normal type Pokemon user so use a fighting type and level it up enough and you have an advantidge.

if you started with tepig, try to evolve it to pignite. go to grass farthest to the left where 2 pokemons may come out. there should be timburr and throh. try to catch them around level 17. watchhog was difficult because of "retailiate" which doubles in power after the 1st Pokemon is killed

It is difficult because Gardenia is a master of grass Pokemon. First you can teach Prinplup the move pluck, you can get the TM from a girl in Floaroma town. You can also catch a Ponyta or a Starly and then use fire and flying type moves to beat her and get your gym badge.

i defeated this gym,using strong starters up to level 30. she has a roserade level 23 in platinum and level 22 in pearl if you have started with mon ferno then mach punch [it will have learnt it] or any other fighting type move wont do much use a fire type move instead prinplup will have learnt peck and grotle will need some assistance from other pokemon may i sugesst starravia withflying moves.
