at first, talk to the mayor and get the mule, then trade between the towns to build up some cash. after you have enough money from buying stuff in one town for cheap and selling things at other towns for a lot more(example: fishes sell at ~10$ a piece in most towns, but in pheonix they sell for ~50$! raise amount of storage to make the trip worth it), buy what the town mayors tell you they want (at the lowest price possible of course). once you accomplish the tasks, you unlock new towns with different things you can buy to raise the amount of goods you can carry; and different, more profitable goods.
