First, you needed to have defeated the Elite Four and Cynthia. Then, go to your map, and below Vielstone City, there should be another part of the map that extends eastward and makes a perfect square. This is the Spring Path, as you can see if you put the cursor over the square on your map. Go to the spring path (you will need rock climb), and enter the cave as you journey forward into the spring path. After entering the cave in the Spring Path, read the pillars. From here, just keep randomly going from room to room until you find Giratina. (You will also need DeFog.) Giratina is standing in the middle of the room, and face towards Giratina, press A, Giratina will roar, and then you can battle Giratina to capture it. Giratina in Pokemon Pearl will appear at Level 70.
