How do you catch a burmy in Pokemon Diamond?

A burmy can only be found in the tree with sweet smell of honey it may take 10 or more minutes.

you must actually spread honey on one of the gold trees, then wait awhile, the tree will be shaking when there is a Pokemon on it, go over to the tree and press A, then a battle will start possibly with a burmy or other Pokemon. Usually a combee that can evolve into a vespiquen.(:

I have never caught a burmy myself, but I do know that a male burmy will evolve into a mothim (all cloaks), and a female burmy will evolve into a wormadam, and it'll depend on what cloak it is also, like trash cloak burmy (female) will evolve into trash cloak wormadam.
on one of the honey trees i think u have to leave like half a day but im not sure

Another AnswerIn Floweroma town, there is a field just above the town itself, and there is a man that will sell you some honey for $100. Buy a bottle or two (this is all about timing and the right tree) and find a golden or discolored tree, walk up to it, press A, and select yes. Wait about 4 to 6 hours, and there should be something in the tree. It could be a burmy, it could not, but if it's not, catch it anyway unless it's a wurple (you can catch those in the eterna forest), because most things you find on a tree is very rare (you can catch burmies as well as heracross, combee and munchlax). the type of burmy you find is also depending on where you had your last battle. If you had your last battle in a field or forest, it'll be a grass burmy. If you last had a battle in a cave, it'll be a ground burmy. to get burmy, you have to find a honey tree (those tree that is like the one outside valley windworks) and have some honey on it, then it will come some pokemon, sometimes burmy, sometimes other pokemon!

Indigo ignores genders completely, if you evolve burmy in indigo you will always get wormadam so how do you get mothim? The answer is you would have to catch it but you can't find it on any map or room so you would have to use a cheat its called Firebug but of course you can try asking for it on the trade center.

2. Go down the first path through the grass and contiue on right and down then left.

3. You should see two psychic trainers go down past them as far as you can, then turn left.

4. There will be two bug catchers battle them, one of them has a Burmy.
