As Dave says there is no obvious reason to do so.

However if you put a 200mA fuse or circuit breaker in series between the supply and the load you will protect the load from pulling more than 200mA from the supply should the load malfunction. That way the load is protected from damaging itself (if that was your concern).

Can an 18V-1.1 Amp DC power supply be used on 18V- 2 Amp DC printer?

you can try it, worse case it just wont power it enough. It will not harm the printer in any way, it just might not have enought "juice" to power it.

What are the three main fuses for a plug?

Answer for UK, Europe and countries running a 50 Hz supply service. In the UK the power plugs are the standard 240 v 3-pin 13 amp variety and they can be fitted with 13 amp fuses. Other common fuse ratings that can be put in are 5 amps and 3 amps for low-power equipment, and it is also possible to buy other fuses like 1 amp, 7 amps and 10 amps.

What is the effect of variation in supply voltage?

A: Depends on the circuitry involved an op amp normally has a 90 Db rejection from variation, Logic gates however are more sensitive to power supply variation for the simple point that triggering points changes which translate in false triggering and the circuits miss behaving

If you have a sub woofer with 400 watts continuous power and 800 watts peak power do you need a 400 watt amp or a 800 watt amp?

well, your lookin at RMS when it comes to speakers and amps, if you bought a 800 watt amp, you would be looking at 400 RMS just as you do with your speakers, i would recommend a 1600 watt amp, just for the fact that you always want a little play room with your amp, this way you wont blow the amp, (amps are more expensive than speakers), and if you decide that you want to get bigger speakers, you will not have to replace the amp. But all in all, i would say anywhere from 1200 to 1600 would do just fine for your sub..-Shocker

How many watt DC to AC converter do you need to run a 6 amp power tool?

The formula for watts (or power) is Amps times voltage. Therefore with a 6 amp draw times 120 volts would be about 720 watts. A 1000 watt power inverter would do the job.

What happens if a 2 amp power supply is used on a circuit needing 200 mA?

Everything would work as designed if you used a 2 amp power supply for a 200 ma circuit. It's important to not go OVER the designed capacity of the power supply, and in fact, it's a good idea to make sure the power supply has at least double the capacity of the load current.

What happens if a 200 mA power supply is used on a circuit needing 2 amp?

If a 200 mA power supply is used on a circuit needing 2 amp it would overload the power supply. Two amps equates to 2000 milliamps. Trying to pull 2000 milliamps from a device that is only capable of supplying 200 milliamps is not advisable. The excessive current draw would most likely burn the wires open and render the power supply useless.

Can you use 5 volts 1.2 amp power supply on 5 volts 3.0 amp device?

No you can not. The power supply output of 1.2 amps is under sized. You would need to have a power supply of 3 amps or larger.

Will 200mA power supply work for 2 amp power needed?

No No No. If your supply can give .2A, and you need 2 Amps, your supply's not going to cut it.

Can you use a 2 amp supply on a 1.5 amp WD External Drive?

If it's a "clean" power supply with the proper voltage, it shouldn't be a problem.

What are the features and specifications of the Square D 400 amp meter main with two 200 amp disconnects?

How do you calculate short circuit current?

A short circuit = 0 ohm, from this one can use ohms law to calculate the current, that is E/R voltage divided by resistance as in this instance your resistance is zero and you can't divide by zero so your current will be infinit. In other words if your power supply is large enough to supply 200 amp, your current on a short circuit will be 200 amp.
