First off, the leader is called Candice. The gym is splat in the middle of the city. If you want to get past the snowballs, go in, down the stairs, left up the stairs, forward, fight the trainer, go left, go forward, go right, go down, go right, then go to where you fought the trainer again, then go right. Go right again, go down, then left. The last set of snowballs should be obvious.
